BOSTON -  Hockey East Tournament MVP Kieran Millan posted 32 saves and senior Brandon Yip recorded a late first-period goal to lead the Boston University men's hockey team past UMass Lowell, 1-0, for the seventh tournament title in the program's history. With the win, the Terriers improve to 31-6-4 and will find out their NCAA Regional destination on Sunday at 11:30 a.m. on ESPN2.

For the second time in his career, Yip recorded a game-winning goal in the title game after tallying one in overtime in 2006 to push BU past Boston College, 2-1. John McCarthy and David Warsofsky recorded assists on the goal at the 18:38 mark in the first period.

The Terriers proved again why they are first in the Hockey East this season in killing power plays as they squashed seven River Hawk man advantages. UMass Lowell had a 5-on-3 chance for a short period of time but could not take advantage of BU's third-period penalties.

The Terriers had another penalty with 1:52 remaining in regulation, and soon thereafter with an empty net, the River Hawks had a 6-on-4 advantage. Still, BU's defense held strong and pulled out the league's second-ever shutout victory in championship final history.

Joining Millan on the all-tournament team are Colin Wilson, Matt Gilroy and McCarthy.
