DIV I

Miami (Ohio) RedHawks
Key Players: Reilly Smith (Junior, Forward); Alden Hirschfeld (Senior, Forward); Chris Wideman (Senior, Defender); Cameron Schilling (Senior, Defender).

Notes: Miami (Ohio) welcomes back one of the nation's top scorers in Reilly Smith, and a two-headed monster in Conor Knapp and Cody Reichard to defend the goal. Throw in the nation's best incoming freshman class and it is easy to see why the RedHawks are preseason favorites.

Notre Dame Fighting Irish
Key Players: T.J. Tynan (Sophomore, Center); Anders Lee (Sophomore, Center); Billy Maday (Senior, Forward); Riley Sheahan (Junior, Center).

Notes: The Fighting Irish have the pieces in place for a return trip to the Frozen Four. They feature two bona fide Hobey Baker Award candidates in Lee and Tynan and a proven veteran scorer in Maday. If Notre Dame gets more consistent play from the goalie, it could easily become the team to beat.

North Dakota Sioux
Key Players: Corban Knight (Junior, Forward); Danny Kristo (Junior, Forward); Brock Nelson (Sophomore, Forward); Aaron Dell (Junior, Goalie).

Notes: The Sioux lost six starters but they don't rebuild they reload in the Flickertail State. Plugging incoming freshman Rocco Grimaldi into a lineup that includes Knight, Kristo and INCH Goalie of the Year Dell should keep folks in Grand Forks buzzing about a spring trip to Tampa.

DIV III

St. Norbert Green Knights
Key Players: Cody Keefer (Junior, Forward); Alain Joanette (Senior, Forward); Johan Ryd (Senior, Forward); Cameron Schilling (Senior, Defender).

Notes: The Green Knights return 16 letterwinners from last year's team that finished 25-4-1 and won the NCAA Division III national championship. St. Norbert has won 12 NCHA regular-season championships in the last 15 years, and has never missed an NCAA Division III Tournament when winning the NCHA regular-season title.

Adrian Bulldogs
Key Players: Zach Graham (Junior, Forward); Josh Cousineau (Sophomore, Center); Andrew Dovey (Junior, Forward); Chris Stansik (Senior, Defenseman).

Notes: A year ago, Adrian was one win away from the Division III title as the Bulldogs fell in the championship game to St. Norbert. The biggest question is how the Bulldogs will replace a senior class that went 102-12-2 over a four-year period and rewrote all sorts of record books in the process.
