Freshman forward Brooke Ammerman was recognized by the Western Collegiate Hockey Association as rookie of the week for the week of Dec. 10. This is her third honor this season. Ammerman also received this honor on Oct. 8 for her four goal performance against Syracuse and the week of Oct. 22 for her performance against Bemidji State.

In her stellar performance against St. Cloud State last weekend (Dec. 5 & 6), Ammerman scored three goals and notched two assists in the two-game series. On Friday Dec. 5, Ammerman put in two goals and contributed two assists to help the Badgers to a 7-0 victory. The next day Ammerman scored another goal as the top-ranked Badgers won 6-2. She ended the series with five points and a +4 plus/minus.

Nationally, Ammerman resides second in the goals-scored column with 20, only two goals behind fellow Badger Hilary Knight. In the WCHA, Ammerman shares the scoring lead among rookies with Minnesota’s Monique Lamoureux. Each has racked 30 points on the season.

Overall this season, Ammerman has notched 30 points, 20 goals and 10 assists in 19 games. Five of her goals have been on the power play and she holds a +19 plus/minus on the season.

Ammerman and the unbeaten Badgers will resume competition when they play an exhibition game against the U.S. Select Team Jan. 2 at the Kohl Center. Faceoff is set for 2 p.m. and admission is free.
