SUPERIOR, Wis. – No. 6 Wisconsin-River Falls defeated No. 3 Wisconsin-Superior 4-0 on Friday. Brooke Story scored a goal and an assist for UWRF to help in the victory.
The first goal of the game came from Crysta Lowell on a power play. Story and Allie Olson were both credited for the assist. The goal came at 4:16 into the game.
Kait Mason scored the lone goal of the second period at 6:12 off an assist by Taylor Guzzo.
The Falcons got a pair of goals in the third period. The first came from Alyssa Black off assists from Alice Cranston and Sam Greeley. Story added the final goal of the game on a power play. Katie Batters got the assist.
Both teams were close in shots with UW-River Falls having 23 shots and UW-Superior getting 18 shots. Ashley Kuechle played strong in the net, saving all 18 shots and getting her first shutout of the season and second of her career. Superior goalie Megan Leikkari recorded 19 saves.
