Le Moyne crushes Franklin Pierce
Dolphins go on a roll in second quarter scoring five goals
RINDGE, N.H. -- Nick Blumer and Nate Frechette scored two goals apiece to lead No. 2 Le Moyne to a 9-2 win at Franklin Pierce on Wednesday.
The Dolphins opened the scoring at the 4:18 mark of the first quarter. After Franklin Pierce goalkeeper Don Denman turned away the first five Le Moyne shots on goal, Blumer found the back of the net. A little more than two minutes later, Andrew Chadderdon doubled the lead with his 13th goal of the season.
Le Moyne scored five times in the second quarter to blow the game open. Just 59 seconds into the quarter, Blumer tallied his second goal of the game. Off of the ensuing face-off, Cameron Fedish caused a turnover, picked up the loose ball and fed Frechette for the score.
Taylor Brooks increased Le Moyne's lead to five with 10:59 remaining in the quarter. After eight and a half minutes of scoreless action, Aaron Cahill recorded an unassisted goal. Sean Connors completed the scoring in the first half by finishing off of a feed from Frechette with 1:09 remaining.
Chris Button scored the first goal of the third quarter at the 9:26 mark.
Eddie Noonan got the Ravens on the scoreboard with an extra-man goal off of a pass from Brendan Cahill with 1:38 remaining.
Frechette gave the eight-goal lead back to the Dolphins by scoring in an extra-man situation off of a pass from Tim Beach with 14:34 remaining in the fourth quarter.
Noonan capped the scoring in the game by finding the back of the net with 15 seconds remaining.
Jeff White made six saves, without allowing a goal, in 35:34 between the pipes to register his 32nd career victory, the second-most in the program's history. Denman finished the game with 16 saves, seven of which came in the first quarter.
