Fifth-ranked Seton Hill cruises past Rollins 18-8 to earn 11th win in a row
On Friday sixth-ranked Seton Hill hosted Rollins. The Griffins dominated play throughout the entire contest to earn an 18-8 victory. With the win, the Griffins improved to 12-1 overall.
In the first quarter the Griffins struck first, getting goals from James Delaney and Matt Delmonico to take a 2-0 lead at the 8:06 mark. The Tars managed to score two minutes later to get on the board 2-1. The Griffins answered back with a goal from Jack Miller and one by Dylan Gelven to end the first quarter with a 4-1 lead.
The second quarter was all Seton Hill as Delmonico netted another two goals and Marc Piche buried two shots to give the Griffins an 8-1 advantage going into halftime.
To start the third quarter the Griffins scored the first five goals increasing their lead 13-1. Rollins stopped the Griffins' run at the 5:32 mark as the Tars scored to make it a 13-2 contest. Seton Hill then scored one minute later on a goal by Brian Barnes that was assisted by Cody Golon, making it 14-2. The Tars slipped one more goal in to end the third quarter, trailing the Griffins 14-3.
In the fourth quarter, Rollins started off with a goal less than two minutes into play. Seton Hill then scored the next three goals making it a 17-4 game with 10:29 left on the clock. The Tars put two more shots in the net, closing the gap to 17-6. Seton Hill retaliated with a goal and Rollins scored another two goals before the final buzzer sounded giving the Griffins an 18-8 victory.
Delmonico led the Griffin offense, scoring three goals and earning one assist. Marc Piche, Erik Hultgren, Miller and Dylan Lefebvre all added two goals apiece. Taylor Mansfield added five assists in the game. In the net, Christopher Ilse recorded 10 saves.
