Army enters USILA Coaches' Poll for first time this season at No. 19
WEST POINT, N.Y. -- Just two days after punching its ticket to the 2013 Patriot League Tournament, Army earned its first national ranking of the season. The Black Knights land at No. 19 in this week's United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) Coaches Poll, while continuing to receive votes in the Nike/Inside Lacrosse Media Poll.
Army (8-4, 4-2 Patriot League) has won four of its past five games and earned the No. 3 seed in this weekend's Patriot League Tournament. The Black Knights will face No. 2 Bucknell in Friday's first semifinal game at 4:30 p.m. The winner will advance to Sunday's championship game against the winner of No. 1 Lehigh and No. 4 Colgate. All three games will be played at Lehigh's Ulrich Sports Complex.
The Black Knights had received votes in each of the last three weeks, but broke into the top 20 for the first time in 2013 this week. Army will be making its eighth consecutive Patriot League Tournament appearance under head coach Joe Alberici and ninth overall as it seeks its first title since 2010.
