Princeton-Columbia game halted
Mother Nature forces Ivy League matchup to be stopped
PRINCETON, N.J. -- Mother Nature won the women’s lacrosse game between Princeton and Columbia.
A combination of lightning, thunder, hail and snow forced officials to halt the game between the Ivy League teams Wednesday night.
The game will replayed in its entirety April 27 at Princeton Stadium. NCAA rules states that the game must be played in its entirety to count.
Princeton led 5-4 when the game was stopped by lightning with 24:21 remaining in the second half. It drizzled most of the day in Princeton with the rain and wind starting to pick up in the first half before giving way to snow and hail.
