Roger Williams picks Hausdorf

New head coach arrives after two seasons at Queens College

BRISTOL, R.I. – The Roger Williams University Athletic Department has hired Kerry Hausdorf to the position of head coach of the RWU Women’s Lacrosse team.

Hausdorf comes to Roger Williams after spending the past two seasons at Division II Queens College in Flushing, N.Y. As the coach of the school’s inaugural team that in 2010, she improved the Knights from a 2-12 record in their first as a varsity program to a 9-8 record this past season. In her first season at Queens, she coached two All-East Coast Conference Second Team players, including the 2010 ECC Rookie of the Year.

Prior to her post at Queens College, Hausdorf served as an assistant coach at Division II American International College in Springfield, Mass. for the 2008 and 2009 seasons, where she played an integral role in recruiting and scouting. Before going to AIC, she was the head coach of the girl’s lacrosse team at The Dalton School in New York, N.Y. where she taught Health and Physical Education.

Hausdorf is a 2004 graduate of Springfield College where she was a three-year member of the Pride as a defender. She received All-NEWMAC honors during her time with the Pride and was named team captain in her senior year.

Hausdorf will take over a Hawks’ squad that finished the 2011 campaign with an 11-7 record and reached the TCCC Tournament each of the past six seasons.
