Hickory, N.C. –- Lenoir-Rhyne University has promoted Sue Reuschle to head women’s lacrosse coach. Reuschle spent last year as a graduate assistant coach for the Bears, helping the squad notch six wins in its inaugural season.
“I am very pleased we have gone in this direction and I am quite confident that Sue will help build a successful program,” Neill McGeachy, Lenoir-Rhyne’s director of intercollegiate athletics, said.
“I am so very excited to be the head coach of the Lenoir-Rhyne women’s lacrosse team,” Reuschle said. “I can’t wait to see what we can do when this talented group of ladies I had the pleasure of coaching last year returns and is joined by a high-caliber group of newcomers. I am also thankful for our athletics director (Neill McGeachy) for giving me this opportunity and for our director of lacrosse (Greg Paradine) for being a great mentor to me this past year.”
Reuschle came to Lenoir-Rhyne after spending one year as an assistant women’s lacrosse coach at E.A. Laney High School in Wilmington, N.C.
Prior to Laney, Reuschle spent the 2009 season as a traveling goalkeeper coach for Wilmington area schools at both the middle and high school levels.
Reuschle played at SUNY Oswego (2003-04) where she was a goalkeeper and midfielder before transferring to the University of North Carolina at Wilmington.
