Columbus, Ohio - The University of North Carolina women's lacrosse team won its seventh consecutive game on Friday night, beating 17th-ranked Ohio State, 10-8, in the Atlantic Coast Conference/American Lacrosse Conference Challenge.  

Kristen Taylor and Jenn Russell each scored three goals for the Tar Heels in the victory.  Freshman Becky Lynch scored twice and sophomore Corey Donohoe dished out two assists.  Megan Bosica tallied a goal and an assist for UNC, Laura Zimmerman scored a goal and Amber Falcone had an assist.  

Russell controlled five draws for the Tar Heels and gathered two ground balls.  Kristen Carr recorded three draw controls and a ground ball, Zimmerman had two draw controls and Mia Hurrin had three ground balls.

Logan Ripley played all 60 minutes in goal for Carolina, recording five saves and allowing eight goals in the cage.

Alayna Markwordt recorded two goals and an assist for the Buckeyes, while Maghan Beaudrault and Kelly Haggerty scored two goals apiece for OSU.

The Tar Heels will return to action with its second game in the ACC/ALC Challenge on Sunday at 11 a.m. against Penn State in Columbus.
