WILLIAMSTOWN, MA -- Visiting Babson College (15-3) turned the tables on host Williams College (12-7) today and upset Williams 8-6 in a First Round game of the NCAA Division III Tournament with a splendid second half defensive effort that permitted Williams just three goals.

Babson out scored Williams 5-3 in the second half to claim the win.

Babson advances to play Gettysburg College at Gettysburg this Saturday at 11:30 AM.

Trisha Babson scored off a feed from Kaitlyn Pettengill with 13:38 remaining in the second half to give visiting Babson College (15-3) their first lead of the game at 6-5.

Babson's go-ahead goal was followed with an unassisted tally by Babson's Anna Collins with 11:28 left and boosted the Beavers' lead to 7-5. Off the draw control following the Collins' goal the Ephs Tracey Ferriter burst through alone on goal and scored, just nine seconds later.

The final goal of the game came at 3:17 with a score by the Beavers' Taylor Kralovenec off a feed from Alyssa Hood. Williams earned a berth in the tourney with an upset win over Colby College in the NESCAC finals holding the Mules scoreless in the second half. Babson ended a 46:42 minute scoreless streak by the Eph defense with a goal at 14:51 of the first half by Jamie Spang.

Alyssa Hood led the Beavers on the day with three goals and one assist. The Ephs got two goals from Margie Fulton and Whitney Thayer, while Kaitlyn Ellis added three assists.

Sarah Macary was stellar in goal for Babson with 13 saves on the day and several were of highlight reel quality. The Ephs Julia Schreiber turned aside 8 Babson attempts.
