ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. -- Athletic director Steve Watson announced the hiring of Ryan Lynn as St. Bonaventure's head women's lacrosse coach.

Lynn, a Baldwinsville, N.Y. native, joins St. Bonaventure after spending the past two seasons as the top assistant at Division II power Le Moyne.

Lynn joined Le Moyne in September 2009, helping the Dolphins transition from Division I to Division II. Under his guidance as defensive coordinator, Le Moyne, which advanced to the NCAA Championship Semifinals in 2011, became the No. 2-ranked Division II team in the nation and boasted the nation's top scoring defense at 5.06 goals per game.

"We believe we've found a rising star in the coaching ranks," Watson said. "We are very excited to have Ryan on board and look forward to him getting started."

Lynn also served as the Dolphins' recruiting coordinator in each of his two seasons, developing extensive ties to Central and Western New York, Long Island and Denver.

"As a team, we believe that with hard work and dedication we will bring a new era to Bonnies lacrosse," Lynn said.

Lynn was as an assistant coach for Buffalo State from 2006-2009, adding assistant women's basketball duties in 2008. He assisted in recruiting for a nationally-ranked Division III program and used his experience as a former starter for the UB club lacrosse team to mentor goalies that eventually ranked second and third in all-time saves for the Bengals.
