Hat tricks from Concheck, Fuccillo help Fresno State end six-match losing streak
RIVERDALE, N.Y. -- Fresno State pulled off a big win on Friday against Manhattan, outscoring the Jaspers 11-10 for its second victory of the season.
There were three lead changes and seven ties in the closely contested match.
Going into halftime tied at four, the Bulldogs came out strong in the second half and outscored the Jaspers 7-6 for the victory.
Kara Concheck and Anjelica Fuccillo led the way with three goals each. Fuccillo also picked up an assist and continues to lead the Bulldogs with 18 points this season.
Four other Bulldogs scored in the win, including senior Lauren Natale with two goals and an assist. Natalie Harrington and Holly Cisneros also picked up a goal each.
Marcy Levatino had two points on the day and led Fresno State with three draw controls and four ground balls.
Katie Wilbur stepped up big in goal with eight saves and three ground balls.
"I think we really executed and finished 60 minutes strong and we came up with the win," head coach Jessica Pausewang said. "It was a great team effort and I am really excited about the momentum we have going into the Colombia game for our last non-conference game of the season."
The Bulldogs improved to 2-6 overall and 2-4 in non-conference play. Manhattan fell to 3-7.
