NCAA reminds fans only to purchase tickets from authorized sources
The NCAA is reminding fans who plan to attend the 2013 NCAA men’s and women’s basketball regional and Final Four games to purchase tickets from authorized sources to reduce chances of fraudulent activities.
Fans are advised to purchase any tickets still available directly from:
• NCAA.com (Men’s Tournament--ncaa.com/mbbtickets) or (Women’s Tournament--ncaa.com/tickets);
• PrimeSport (the NCAA’s official ticket and hospitality package provider—ncaa.com/hospitality);
• host colleges/universities or athletics conferences; and
• ticket offices of schools participating in the tournament
NCAA basketball tournament tickets bear unique security marks that cannot be reproduced. Individuals who purchase tickets from unofficial sources, including unauthorized street vendors, run the risk of purchasing tickets that are not authentic and do not grant entrance to tournament games.
Fans are subject to government regulations, ordinances or laws, and possible prosecution, if they are caught selling tickets to or from unauthorized sources. NCAA tickets may not be offered in a commercial promotion or as a prize in an auction, fundraiser, sweepstakes or contest, unless specifically authorized in advance by the NCAA.
"Each year we alert fans about making wise choices when purchasing tickets to our men’s and women’s basketball tournament games because it protects them from scam activities and individuals who may not have their best interest in mind,” said Josh Logan, NCAA director of ticketing and marketing. “We want to provide fans with peace of mind when they go to purchase tickets which helps to ensure a good experience at regional and Final Four games.”
Primesport also offers the Official NCAA Ticket Exchange Program for the NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Championship. The Official NCAA Ticket Exchange Program allows college basketball fans the opportunity to buy and sell tickets online in a convenient, safe, and guaranteed environment. Ticket holders who are unable to attend their games or find their team eliminated have a place to safely sell their tickets. Buyers can be assured that the tickets are authentic and guaranteed, even if the game is sold-out. Fans can go to www.ncaa.com/ncaaexchange for more details.
