No. 17 Cornell captures Parents’ Cup

Big Red sweep past competition en route to victory

ITHACA, N.Y. – No. 17 Cornell swept all six races Saturday on the Cayuga Lake Inlet, including a victory in the varsity 8 race against Dartmouth to earn the Parents’ Cup for the first time since 2005.

The Big Red also defeated the Big Green in the second varsity 8, the varsity 4 and the varsity 4 B in the morning’s races, before coming back in the afternoon to defeat URI in the varsity 4 C, as well as Dartmouth and Buffalo in the third varsity 8.

The Big Red will have nearly two weeks to prepare for the Eastern Sprints, slated for Sunday, May 15 on the Cooper River in Pennsauken, N.J.
