DII Rowing field announced

Four teams will head to Gold River, Calif. from May 27-29

INDIANAPOLIS — The NCAA Division II Women’s Rowing Committee has selected the teams that will compete in the 2011 NCAA Division II Women’s Rowing Championships.

The championships will be held May 27-29 at the Sacramento State Aquatic Center in Gold River, California. Washington State University will serve as host.

The team championship is composed of four teams, and each team is required to field one boat of eight rowers and one boat of four rowers. The teams selected were:  Humboldt State, Mercyhurst, Nova Southeastern and Western Washington.

In addition, two at-large Eights from institutions not represented in the team competition were selected. The two schools selected were: Barry and Seattle Pacific.

In 2010, Western Washington won its sixth consecutive national title at the NCAA Division II Women’s Rowing Championships May 28-30 at the Sacramento State Aquatic Center.

Highlights of the Divisions I, II and III Women’s Rowing Championships will appear on the 2011 CBS Sports Presents Championships of the NCAA (spring seasonal show), set to air at 4 p.m. ET Sunday, June 19 on CBS.
