Winds force postponement of late Saturday races to early Sunday morning
Heavy winds at the NCAA Rowing Championships have caused the sanctioning body to postpone four events of Saturday's events to early Sunday morning.
|Sunday's Revised Schedule|
"During [Saturday's] NCAA Division I Rowing Championships, heavy winds caused two boats to take on water and not finish the II Eights C/D semifinals, resulting in the referees having to rule the race as not official," Anne McCoy, chair of the NCAA Rowing Committee, said in a statement. "To ensure student-athlete safety, all racing has been postponed for Saturday and is rescheduled for Sunday, including a re-running of the race deemed unofficial."
Before the scheduled 8:30 a.m. ET racing begins Sunday, the four postponed races from Saturday will race, starting with the II Eights C/D semifinal at 8 a.m. That race will be followed by the second II Eights C/D semi starting at 8:05 a.m., the Fours C/D Semi at 8:10 a.m. and the second Fours C/D semi at 8:15 a.m.
