Eighth-ranked Philadelphia fares well against Wash. College, Villanova
CHESTERTOWN, Md. -- Philadelphia raced against Villanova and host Washington College on a windy Saturday morning on the Chester River.
The varsity eight boat, led by coxswain Lynn Nemeth, finished was defeated by Washington College in a heads-up race. The Shorewomen completed the race in 6:31, while the Rams turned in a time of 6:46.
Shannon O'Donnell, Rachel Soroka, Ahna Huss, Kelsey Zuch, Amy Robinson, Eliza Brooks, Colleen O'Donnell and Solete Romero made up the varsity eight team.
In the varsity four race, the Rams finished the 1,500-meter course in 6:10 to take third in the five-boat race. The boat consisted of coxswain Marie Weber, Kati Sweisford, Ellen Miller, Christine Page and Brooks.
Villanova "A" had a race-winning time of 6:02. Villanova "B" finished in the runner-up spot with a time of 6:07. Washington College (6:32) was fourth, while Villanova "C" (6:53) came in fifth.
