Central Collegiate Ski Association (CCSA)

Women - Raphaela Sieber, Alaska Fairbanks – Raphaela was the top collegiate finisher in both races at the Mayor’s Challenge on Jan. 22-23 in Minneapolis. In the 10k classic, she was 48 seconds faster than the next collegiate skier, while she was tops in the 5k freestyle by 14 seconds.

Men - Martin Baanerud, Northern Michigan – Martin was the top collegiate finisher in the 15k classic and was third in the 10k freestyle at the Mayor’s Challenge on Jan. 22-23 in Minneapolis. He won the classic by 11 seconds and in the freestyle he was only 10 seconds behind the winner.

Eastern Intercollegiate Ski Association (EISA)

Women’s Alpine - Kate Ryley, Vermont – Kate won the giant slalom at the Colby Carnival on Jan. 21-22 at Sugarloaf (Maine) Resort, and took second place in the slalom competition.

Men’s Alpine - Robby Kelley, Vermont – Robby won the giant slalom by almost two full seconds, and was sixth in the slalom despite posting the best second run time in the event at the Colby Carnival.

Women’s Nordic - Lucy Garrec, Vermont – Lucy won the 10k classic by 15 seconds at the Colby Carnival and helped her team to a third place finish in the 3 x 5k relay.

Men’s Nordic - Nils Koons, Dartmouth – Nils won the 10k classic at the Colby Carnival by nine seconds over the second place finisher and led the Big Green to the team title in the 3 x 5k relay.

Rocky Mountain Intercollegiate Ski Association (RMISA)*

Women’s Nordic - Eliska Hajkova, Colorado – Eliska placed second in both the 5k freestyle and the 15k classical this past weekend at the 2011 University of Utah Invitational. She was more than a minute faster than the third place finisher in the 15k classical event, and was only 11 seconds behind the winner in the 5k freestyle.

Men’s Nordic - Vegard Kjoelhamar, Colorado – Vegard won the 20k classical event and was second in the 10k freestyle at the 2011 University of Utah Invitational. He was more than 90 seconds faster than the second place finisher in the 20k classical event, and only five seconds back of the winner in the freestyle.
