Dartmouth Leads After Day One Of Eastern Regional

Day One is complete at the 87th Middlebury College winter carnival. Middlebury sits in second place with 384 points, trailing first place Dartmouth (409) by just 25 points. UVM sits in third place (364), followed by UNH (359).
The Middlebury men were solid in the 10K classical race, finishing tied for second. Patrick Johnson led the pack with a fourth place finish, coming in with a time of 32:30. Chase Marston was next for the Panthers in ninth place (33:03), followed by Douglas Debold in 11th (33:17). Also turning in top finishes for the men were Graham Egan in 14th (33:38) and Noah Brautigam in 15th (33:41).
Lauren Fritz paced the women in the 5K classic, finishing 11th with a time of 19:39. Corinne Prevot and Catherine Brown were next for the Panthers, placing 20th (20:07) and 21st (20:08) respectively.
The men's slalom team finished the day in second place, behind a second place finish (1:33.86) from Bobby Poehling. Jonathan Hunter came in eighth place (1:35.47) in the race, while Andrew McNealus placed 10th (1:35.86).
Natasha Woodworth led the Panther women, placing fourth overall with a time of 1:36.57. Nicole Dvorak finished the race in 11th place (1:37.15), while Leah McLaughery came in 15th (1:37.68).
