WINTER PARK, Colo. – University of Denver skiers Lindsay Cone and Seppi Stiegler swept the final RMISA Qualifier race on their own hill Thursday ahead of the 2011 Denver Invitational. Cone won by just one-one hundredth of a second while Stiegler won by eight tenths of a second.

On the women’s side, Cone won in a time of 2:02.36, just a hair faster than Alaska Anchorage’s Alex Parker (2:02.37) while Colorado’s Erika Ghent also took a podium in a time of 2:02.53. Utah’s Tii-Maria Romar was fourth (2:02.83) while CU’s Sara Hjertman took fifth in a time of 2:02.99.

Stiegler’s time of 1:54.12 was well ahead of the field as Utah’s Jeremy Elliot took second (1:54.92) and Colorado’s Gabriel Rivas joined those two on the podium in a time of 1:55.05. New Mexico’s Petter Brenna took fourth in 1:55.21 while Utah’s Nick Cohee rounded out the top five in a time of 1:55.52.
