GOLDEN, Colo. – The 3rd-ranked Colorado School of Mines men's soccer team picked up its fourth straight win opening up RMAC play by defeating then unbeaten Mesa State by a score of 5-1 on Friday afternoon at the CSM Soccer Stadium.

CSM scored early just 1:46 into the match when Alex Nass drilled shot from 25 yards out for his first goal of the season on the assist from Chike Sullivan.
Jacob Juett got in on the action off a Mines corner kick in the 8th minute. Juett headed home his first goal of the season off the Cale Haas corner kick to make the score 2-0 in favor of Mines.

Chike Sullivan found Alex Gunberg open just outside the box in the 19th minute. Gunberg dribbled into the box for the goal as Sullivan tallied his second assist of the match and third of the season.

Mines added to its total in the second half. First in the 57th minute as Sullivan found space in the box and chipped the ball over the Mesa State goalkeeper for his second goal of the season.

Gunberg picked up his second goal of the match and third of the season off a Mines throw in. Philip Wilson found Gunberg open in the box near the penalty area to give CSM a 5-0 lead. The assist was Wilson's third of the season.

Mesa State scored its lone goal in the 78th minute as Stan Schrock hit a shot far post from just outside the box on the right side for his first goal of the season.

The 3rd-ranked Orediggers (4-0, 1-0 RMAC) will travel to Colorado Springs to take on UC-Colorado Springs on Sunday, Sept. 19th at 2:30 pm.
