The first RPI poll of the 2010 season has come out and the computers clearly do not agree with the pollsters. Despite both groups having Akron at No. 1, UNC at No. 3, and Butler at No. 9, there was a tremendous amount of outliers.

SMU, who the NSCAA ranks as the No. 7 team in the country, is No. 2 according to the computers. Even more of a shock is that two big ten schools, Ohio State and Michigan State, who are ranked No. 16 and No. 21 in the human poll respectively, are given the No. 4 and No. 5 rankings according to the computers.
