CHICAGO, IL – The North Park mens soccer team earned a 1-0 win over Hope College of Michigan in the first round of the NCAA Division III Mens Soccer national tournament at UW-Oshkosh Friday night.
The victory was the fourth in a row for the Vikings, and it was their first-ever tournament win in four tries. It also snapped a seven-game winning streak for Hope, which finished the season with a 13-6-2 record.
Junior Kris Grahn scored the lone goal for North Park in the 64th minute when he tapped in a shot from five yards out off an assist from junior Sehten Hills and freshman Filip Lindmark.
North Park (13-4-2) will now face regional host UW-Oshkosh (17-0-3), a 2-1 winner over Carroll University, for a spot in the third round and the Sweet 16 tonight at 6:30 p.m.
