LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Fifth-ranked Rollins used a pair of goals from defender Jack Clifford on Thursday to knock off previously unbeaten Midwestern State, 2-1, in a semifinal match of the 2010 Division II Mens Soccer Championship.

Clifford and defender Kevin Boone teamed up twice on the evening, including on the game-winner, as Clifford snuck in his second goal in the 64th minute on a corner kick from Boone. The tally broke a 1-1 tie and sent the Tars to Saturdays championship game.

The pair also combined on the first goal in the 30th minute of the match. Clifford headed a Boone corner past Midwestern States Raul Herrera to give Rollins the 1-0 advantage. Midwestern State evened the match in the 56th minute on a goal by Nathan Fitzgerald. He redirected a lead from Sam Broadbent to even the score at 1.

Rollins goalkeeper Keneil Baker surrendered the lone goal to earn the win. He made seven saves. Herrera collected three saves. Rollins (15-3-3) outshot second-ranked Midwestern State, 13-10. The Mustangs finished 19-1-2.
