SPOKANE, Wash.- Whitworth College and Trinity University, the top two seeds in their quarter bracket of the NCAA Division III men's soccer tournament, will meet one another on Sunday afternoon to decide one berth to the final four after each won in today's Sectional Semifinals at Whitworth Soccer Field. The host Pirates defeated Wartburg College (Iowa) 3-0 in the first match, while Trinity came from behind to defeat Stevens Institute of Technology (N.J.) 3-1 in the second contest.

The Tigers (19-1-1) overcame a sluggish first half to defeat the Ducks (16-4-2) with a three goal second half flurry.

Stevens got three shots on goal in the first half, and scored in the 36th minute when Chris McGreevy fired back a clear attempt by Trinity keeper Matt Handy after a corner kick from Craig Moquin

Still down 1-0 in the 67th minute, Trinity evened the score when Patrick Floeck crossed from the right side to Tyrone Petrakis, who beat Stevens keeper Chris Celentano to his right. Less than a minute and a half later, Brian Reeves intercepted a Ducks' clear attempt on the left side of the box, beat the defender to the inside and fired past Celentano to make the score 2-1.

The Tigers picked up and insurance goal in the 78th minute when Petrakis shot the ball on a breakaway and had it bounce off of Celentano right back to him and he put it right back in the net.

Trinity outshot Stevens 19-7 in the match, 11-4 in the second half. The shots on goal were 4-4. Handy made three saves for the Tigers, while Celentano made one stop for the Ducks.

Stevens came into the match having not allowed a goal since October 15th to Kings Point, a string of nine straight games.
