SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. - Dion Peters scored two first half goals and the 14th-ranked University of Charleston defeated No. 4 Millersville 2-0 in the opening round of the NCAA Division II Men's Soccer Tournament.

Peters scored in the 17th minute off an assist from Darko Karamatic to put the Golden Eagles up 1-0. Peters used his explosive speed to breakaway from the Millersville defense to score on a breakaway in the 25th minute off an assist from Predrag Ivanovic.

Charleston fell back into a defensive set for the second half and Millersville could not break through with a goal.

Charleston finished with a 13-10 advantage in total shots. Each team managed five shots on goal and Millersville held a 4-2 edge in corner kicks.

Charleston improves to 18-3 overall. Millersville falls to 17-3. The Golden Eagles will play the winner of the Slippery Rock and Mercyhurst game Sunday at 2 p.m.
