No. 4 Rollins falls to Lynn
Roundup: Early goal lifts No. 3 C.W. Post past Mercy
WINTER PARK, Fla. -- No. 4 Rollins suffered its first home defeat on Saturday against Lynn 2-0. With the loss, the Tars fall to 10-2 overall and 4-2 in conference play.
Rollins got off to a sluggish start as Lynn got on the scoreboard first in the 19th minute as Martin Whelert tallied the goal off an assist from Julian Halder to give the Fighting Knights a lead they would not relinquish. Lynn was not done as Harold Gracholski scored a goal in the 37th minute to gain the momentum heading into halftime.
Rollins came out of the break with heavy pressure on the Fighting Knights, but could not garner any tallies off set pieces.
No. 3 C.W. Post 1, Mercy 0
BROOKVILLE, N.Y. -- Andreas Olson scored the only goal in the sixth minute, as No. 3 C.W. Post defeated Mercy 1-0 in on Saturday.
C.W. Post improves to 12-0-1 and 4-0-1 in conference play, while Mercy moves to 5-7-1 and 1-4.
Olson's goal was set up by sophomore Jonathon Watkin, who dribbled past a defender at the top of the box, cut back and passed to Olson, whose shot sailed past Mercy goalkeeper Nick Papas.
The game was scoreless the rest of the way despite an even barrage of shots from both team, and C.W. Post held a slim 17-16 edge. The Pioneers also owned a 9-4 advantage in corners.
