MILLERSVILLE, Pa. -- In its first post-season appearance since 2008, No. 8 California (Pa.) suffered a 4-0 loss at second-seeded Millersville in the semifinals of the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Tournament on Wednesday.

With the loss, the Vulcans fall to 11-3-4 overall after finishing the regular season third in the league standings with a 6-2-1 mark. California entered the game as the second-ranked team in the Atlantic Region and will now await the conclusion of conference tournaments to see if it receives an at-large bid to the NCAA tournament.

The Marauders took a 1-0 lead in the 17th minute when senior Aaron Roland posted his fifth goal of the season off an assist from sophomore Colby Zeger. Millersville then expanded its lead late in the first period when sophomore Andrew Dukes scored his team-leading seventh goal of the year following a pass from freshman Colby Klumpp at 38:46.

In the opening minutes of the second period, California was issued a red card and was forced to play the remainder of the game with only 10 players. The Marauders added to the lead in the 54th minute on a goal by sophomore Ryan Rohrer before junior Matt Kadoch scored on a breakaway at the 67:37-mark.

Redshirt senior goalkeeper Charlie Dagnal finished with one save in 90 minutes of action. Millersville's Brad Benzing recorded his seventh shutout of the year after making three saves on Wednesday.

The Marauders finished game with an 18-11 advantage in shots and the two teams combined for only eight shots on goal. Millersville also held a 4-1 edge in corner kicks.

With the win, Millersville improves to 11-6-1 and will now play Bloomsburg for the PSAC title on Saturday, Nov. 5, with the champion receiving an automatic qualifier to the NCAA tournament. The Marauders entered the tournament as the top-ranked team in the Atlantic Region.
