Quarterfinal match postponed by snow
Creighton and South Florida to face off on Sunday at 2 p.m. ET
OMAHA, Neb. -- Saturday's scheduled NCAA tournament quarterfinal between the No. 2-seeded Creighton Bluejays and No. 7-seeded South Florida Bulls at Morrison Stadium has been postponed until Sunday at 2 p.m. ET due to snow in Omaha. Moments before a delayed kickoff at 2:15 pm, the on-site NCAA games committee determined the field at Morrison Stadium was unplayable due to the continual snow fall.
The original forecast called for the bulk of snow accumulation to hit Omaha after on Saturday, but the snow started falling mid-morning and almost immediately began to accumulate on the artificial playing surface at Morrison Stadium. A facilities staff of more than 20, armed with shovels and three snow removal machines could not keep up with the heavy snow, forcing the postponement of the contest.
The Bluejays (20-2-0) and Bulls (13-3-4) are playing for a berth in the College Cup and will look to do so with a clear field on Sunday.
Any fan with a ticket from Saturday, can still use that same ticket on Sunday. Tickets are still available for purchase as well, with the Morrison Stadium Ticket Office opening at 11 a.m. on Sunday.
