SEATTLE, Wash. – Brown improved to 7-1-0 with a 3-0 victory against Portland (2-4-1) to capture the Husky Classic title hosted at Washington.
With the win, the Bears cracked the Top 25 of the NSCAA Coaches’ poll at No. 21. UAB and Furnam also jumped into the Top 25 at No. 23 and No. 25, while Maryland stayed at No. 1.

Senior captain Eric Robertson scored first for the Bears against Portland when he blasted a shot from 18 yards out past keeper Justin Baarts to tally his second goal of the season.
The Bears outshot Portland 6-2 in the first half, and kept Baarts busy as he picked up three saves in the first 45 minutes.
Just under two minutes into the second period senior midfielder Thomas McNamara scored the Bears’ second goal of the game off an assist by Tariq Akeel. Senior forward Bobby Belair then tacked on an insurance goal when he took a pass from Voltaire Escalona and nailed a shot past Baarts.
The Bears held the Pilots to just four shots, while attempting 15 of their own. Senior goalkeeper Sam Kernan-Schloss earned two saves in 86 minutes of play and improved to 7-1-0 for his sixth shutout.
