Harb's pair of scores propels No. 17 Mars Hill past No. 10 Young Harris
MARS HILL, N.C. -- In a battle of two nationally ranked teams, No. 17 Mars Hill defeated No. 10 Young Harris 3-1 on Wednesday.
Mars Hill improved to 8-1 on the season while Young Harris fell to 7-2 on the year.
Felipe Ferraro scored on an unassisted breakaway at the 12:01 mark to give the Lions a 1-0 advantage they would not relinquish.
In the 16th minute, Shadi Harb scored from around 25 yards out on a pass from Alex Mullen. Mars Hill would carry the 2-0 lead into the locker room at the intermission.
Harb scored his second goal of the contest at the 52:08 mark to give the Lions a 3-0 edge. The goal was assisted by Ferraro.
Young Harris got on the board in the 68th minute when Niall McCabe found the back of the net on a through ball from Lewis Hilton to trim the deficit to 3-1.
Mars Hill outshot Young Harris 22-18. Corner kicks were tied at four apiece.
Zac Scott played the entire match in goal for Mars Hill and made four saves. Wezly Barnard also played the entire match in the net for Young Harris and made eight saves.
