Dorf scores game-winner in 87th minute, Mercyhurst advances
CHARLESTON, W.V. -- Sophomore Sam Dorf scored in the 87th minute of regulation to beat Charleston (W Va.) 1-0 on Saturday. The Lakers move on to the third round of NCAA tournament and improve to 15-5-1 in this season. Charleston finished its season with a WVIAC championship and a 13-2-1 record.
The last time the Lakers made it into the third round of the NCAA tournament was back on Dec. 6, 2002.

Mercyhurst found the net for the game's lone goal at the 87:31 mark of the second half. Senior Alex Manea sent a ball through a Charleston defender's legs and to the feet of Dorf. Dorf shot the ball into the middle, right corner of the net.
Dorf's game-winning goal was both his second goal and second game-winner this season.
Senior Mikko Sarkkinen (2-0-0) started in his second game, stopped four shots and recorded his first shutout. Sean Teepen of Charleston made three shots and allowed one, finishing his season 13-3-3.
