LOS ANGELES -- Dennis Martinez snatched the 'Eaters from the jaws of defeat scoring with 18 seconds left in regulation, and Gor Kirakosyan completed the comeback slamming home the game-winning penalty kick in the 105th minute to keep No. 6 UCI unbeaten Thursday night at Sullivan Field against Loyola Marymount.

The Anteaters (5-0-1) got things started right with the opening tally in the fifth minute. Mats Bjurman found Cameron Iwasa in the box to get it going.

LMU (2-2-2) found its scoring touch in the 26th minute as Alvaro Madrigal and Jack McCracken came together to set up Sebastian De Rada for the equalizer. The Lions turned the momentum into a lead in the 35th minute thanks to Akio Ohtake-Gordon.

UCI still help the shot advantage through the half, 6-3, but the Lions picked up steam in the second half. They peppered 'Eater keeper Michael Breslin early on, but he weathered the barrage to keep UCI down by one.

The 'Eaters heightened the pressure late, and nearly ran out of time, but Dennis Martinez found a way with 18 seconds to spare and moved the match into overtime.

The physical match would extend into a second overtime and be settled from the penalty spot in the 105th minute. Gor Kirakosyan ended it returning the sixth-ranked 'Eaters to the win column.

Kirakosyan's goal was his first game-winner since 2012, and both his strikes this season are from the spot. He stands along Martinez and Bjurman at second on the squad with six points.

Martinez has three goals on the season now, and all have either won or tied the match for UCI. Bjurman added his second assist of the season, and now has a point in consecutive matches.

Iwasa buried his first goal of the season. Breslin stopped three shots on his way to his fifth win of the season.

Overall, the match was about as even as it looked. Each squad had 12 shots and 13 fouls. UCI had a massive 11-1 advantage in corner kicks, but failed to take advantage of them.
