Steve Neumann, a junior midfielder for the No. 10 Hoyas, scored a pair of goals in Georgetown’s two outings during the past week. He netted a free kick in the team’s 2-1 win against No. 4 Marquette, handing the Golden Eagles their first loss of the season. Neumann also tabbed a goal in the Hoyas’ 2-0 defeat of Lehigh.
Coastal Carolina Athletics
Sophomore forward Ricky Garbanzo had a hand in each of No. 12 Coastal Carolina’s first three goals on Saturday, scoring two goals and assisting on another for the Chanticleers. The Chants defeated VMI 8-0 to improve to 11-1-2 on the season. The eight goal output was the program’s most since scoring 10 last season.
Niagara Athletics
The Purple Eagles remain in unbeaten territory at 8-0-4, along with four other teams (Maryland, Xavier, Cornell), thanks to a hat trick by sophomore Callum Willmott that helped propel Niagara to a 3-2 win against Canisius on Saturday. The victory extended Niagara’s unbeaten streak to 12 games, tying the program record.
