KANSAS CITY, Kan. - The Laker soccer team will begin the 2010 season as the number one ranked team in the nation by the National Soccer Coaches Association of American (NSCAA). Grand Valley State is the only Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) team to be ranked in the preseason poll.

GVSU finished the 2009 season as NCAA DII National Champions and a 22-0-4 undefeated record. The Lakers open its 2010 campaign on Sept. 3 at home against Winona State at 4 :00 p.m., followed by Minnesota State Mankato on Sept. 5 at 12:00 p.m.
