LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The fifth-ranked Grand Valley State Lakers pressed the action Thursday in the second half of the first semifinal of the NCAA Division II Womens Soccer Championship and topped Florida Tech, 2-0.

Sophomore forward Ashley Botts posted the breakaway game-winning goal in the 77th minute on a feed from Alyssa Mira.
Botts added a goal in the 87th minute to ice the match. She beat Florida Tech goalkeeper Mist Eliasdottir after taking advantage of a Panthers turnover. The goals were her 13th and 14th of the season.

The Grand Valley State (20-1-2) defense was anchored in goal by sophomore Chelsea Parise, who made seven saves.
Eliasdottir recorded four saves for the Panthers, who were outshot by the Lakers, 14-8.

Grand Valley State will look to defend its championship in Saturdays title match against either Saint Rose or UC San Diego.
