DENVER, Colo. -- #1 seed and host Metro State, ranked second in the most recent (November 9th) National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) NCAA Division II Top 25 Poll, defeated #2 seed and 10th-ranked Regis University by the score of 1-0 in the Championship Match of the NCAA II Midwest Regionals on Sun., Nov. 14th, at Auraria Field. Metro State (22-1-0 overall) tallied the lone score of the contest when Marina McDonald capitalized on a Jodi McGann pass for her ninth goal of the year just over 10 minutes into the first half (10:39).

For the Rangers (19-5-0 overall), the setback marked their fourth loss of the 2004 season to the Roadrunners. RU goalkeeper Joanna Humphreys (18-5-0) made five saves as Regis was shutout for just the second time this year (both times by Metro State). Each of Regis' four losses to MSCD this fall were decided by just one goal.

At the conclusion of the NCAA II Midwest Regional Championship Match, four Rangers were named to the All-Tournament Team, including Nikki Lawson, Lacy Richardson, Kate Murphy and Alli Rausch.
