West Windsor, NJ - Sophomore Dana DiBruno (Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill East) scored with 2:48 remaining in regulation to propel The College of New Jersey womens soccer team to its second NCAA Final Four appearance in the last three years as the Lions edged Denison University 2-1 on Sunday at Mercer County Community College in West Windsor.

The winning play started with Kristen Cubioccotti (North Haledon, NJ/Immaculate Heart Academy) placing a direct kick into the Denison penalty area where Courtney Krol (Howell, NJ/Howell) headed a shot on goal that Big Red keeper Liz Gillette (Mentor, OH/Notre Dame Cathedral) made the initial save on, but DiBruno was there to bang in the rebound for her 18th goal of the year and give TCNJ its only lead of the game.

The Lions (21-0) now head to the national semifinal in Greensboro, North Carolina and face 13th-ranked Tufts University at a time to be determined on Friday, November 25.

Denison capped their season with a mark of 16-4-4.

The Big Red struck first as Kim Cochran (Upper Arlington, OH/ Upper Arlington) headed in a direct kick off of the foot of Anne Young (Columbus, OH/Worthington-Kilbourne). That goal came 12:45 into the game and snapped TCNJs lengthy scoreless streak at an impressive 1,498:45, a span that covered 16 straight shutouts.

Trailing for the first time all season, the Lions battled back to knot the score as Brittny Boyd (Hackettstown, NJ/Hackettstown) drilled a shot under the cross bar after taking a touch pass from Jamie Kunkel (Mount Laurel, NJ/Lenape). The goal, which was Boyds 15th of the season, came with 23:25 remaining before the half.

Alissa Kacar (East Brunswick, NJ/East Brunswick) finished made one save for the Lions. For the Big Red, Gillette finished with a six of saves.

The Lions are making their 15th straight appearance in the tournament and have won three nationals championships with the last of those coming in the 2000 season. All-time in NCAA Tournament play, TCNJ has a record of 33-11-2.
