BALTIMORE, MD - The seventh-ranked Johns Hopkins women's soccer defeated Cabrini by a score of 4-0 at Homewood Field. Junior Allie Zazzali (Scotch Plains, NJ/Scotch Plains-Fanwood) scored the second and third goals in the match. With the win, Johns Hopkins improves to 17-3 and advances to the Second Round of the NCAA Tournament. Cabrini falls to 14-6-1.

Senior Natalie Held (Potomac, MD/Churchhill) opened the scoring in the 28th of the match. She picked up a loose ball and drilled a shot from the 18-yard box into the upper right corner of goal. This was the lone goal of the first half. Senior Karen Guszkowski (Sayreville, NJ/Cardinal McCarrick) made two saves and Cabrini's Gianna Porretta made five saves in the half.

The Blue Jays turned on the offense in the second half. Zazzali scored her first goal of the game just five minutes into the half. Sara Tankard (Clarksville, MD/River Hill) and Erica Suter (Ellicott City, MD/River Hill) each had assists on the goal with quick touches on the ball inside the box. Zazzali then scored another unassisted goal at 67:56, giving her four goals on the season.

Hopkins scored the last goal of the day in the 87th minute. Sophomore Ava Scheininger (Westfield, NJ/Morristown-Beard) sent a long pass to senior Caitlin Moore (Landisville, PA/Hempfield), sending her on a semi-breakaway. Moore dribbled in before hitting the side netting on the right side of the goal.

Karen Guszkowski (Sayreville, NJ/Cardinal McCarrick) and Kristen Redsun (Trabuco Canyon, CA/Santa Margarita) split time in goal for the combined shutout. The Blue Jays now have 15 shutouts on the season.

The Blue Jays are now 4-6-2 all-time in NCAA Tournament games and 3-0 at Homewood Field.

Johns Hopkins will host Eastern on Sunday, November 15 at 2:00 pm in the Second Round of the NCAA Tournament.
