Amherst, MA. - A pair of first-half goals sparked The College of New Jersey women's soccer team to a 2-0 triumph over Plattsburgh State in the opening round of the 2009 NCAA Division III Tournament on Saturday in Amherst, MA.

The win sends the Lions into the second round on Sunday where they will face the host Jeffs of Amherst College in a 1 p.m. start. Amherst advanced with a 3-0 victory over Eastern Connecticut State to improve to 13-3-1 on the year.
