The No. 5 Grand Valley State women's soccer team advanced to the NCAA Division II Women's Soccer Regional Finals after defeating Quincy 3-0 on Sunday afternoon (Nov. 14). The Lakers notch its 17th shutout victory and have yet to give up a goal at home this season. GVSU will face the winner of Wisconsin-Parkside/Northern Kentucky on Friday, Nov. 19 at 1:30 p.m. at the GVSU Soccer Fields.

Grand Valley State placed its first shot in the back of the net at the 14:22 mark. Sophomore forward Kayla Addison notched her team-high 17th goal of the year after she received a pass from Ashley Botts. Addison then took the ball down the middle of the field and took a shot from inside the box. The ball was placed in the bottom right corner of net, giving GVSU a 1-0 lead.

The Lakers added two more goals during the second half of play, the first during the 79th minute. Senior Jaleen Dingledine was set up by Botts and then took a shot from seven yards out. Dingledine's shot landed in the bottom right corner of the net, putting GVSU up 2-0. With less than two minutes left to play, Botts recorded a goal of her own off of an Erin Mruz corner kick, sealing a 3-0 victory for Grand Valley State.

GVSU outshot the Lady Hawks by a 21-10 advantage, including a 9-5 margin in shots on goal. Goalkeeper Chelsea Parise notched five saves in the match and recorded her 13th shutout on the year. The Lakers advanced their record to 18-1-2 in overall play, while Quincy falls to 14-5-3 overall.
