COLUMBUS, Ga. -
The Lenoir-Rhyne University Women's Soccer Team (18-2-1) took down seventh-ranked and top-seeded Columbus State University (19-2-1), 1-0, in the second round of the NCAA Division II Playoffs Sunday afternoon at the Walden Soccer Complex.

L-R now moves on to the Southeast Regional Championship and will face Armstrong Atlantic State (14-3-2) next weekend at a South Region site and a time to be determined.

AASU defeated UNC Pembroke at home by a 1-0 score on Sunday as well. Lenoir-Rhyne is the fourth seed in the regional while Armstrong Atlantic State is seeded second.

Junior midfielder Catherine Hauck (Lake Mary, Fla.) scored the lone goal of the match in the 75th minute when she finished off a free kick that landed in the upper right ninety of the net.

Hauck, the 2010 South Atlantic Conference Player Of The Year, now has a team-leading nine goals on the year and has scored a goal in four of the Bears' last five contests.

L-R also held a 12-8 advantage in shots taken and handed Columbus State its first home loss of the year.

Sophomore goalkeeper Caitlin Scruggs (Torrance, Calif.) picked up the shutout in goal, her eighth of the year, while stopping four shots for the Bears.

Willi Babillis (Atlantic Beach, Fla.) suffered the loss despite allowing just one goal while making eight saves for Columbus State, who saw its 10-match winning streak snapped in the process as well.
