Hansson made five saves in net for the Purple Knights
BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- Bridgeport got second-half goals from senior Katie Stanley and junior Asia Pulse, plus sophomore goalkeeper Julia Hansson recorded her third consecutive shutout and fifth of the season, as the Purple Knights, ranked fifth in the nation, posted a 2-0 home East Coast Conference (ECC) win against the C.W. Post Pioneers on Saturday night. With the win, UB is now 7-0-0 overall and 2-0-0 in conference play. C.W. Post, the 2010 ECC Champions, are now 3-3-0 overall and 0-1-0 in league action.
After a scoreless first 45 minutes, Stanley opened the scoring in the match when she netted her second goal of the year off an assist from classmate Julia Colley at the 62:07 mark.
Nine minutes and 55 seconds later, Pulse found the back of the net with her second tally of 2011 off a long pass from freshman Stephanie D'Andrea.
Hansson made five saves in net for Bridgeport as she extended her scoreless streak to a total of 306 minutes and 55 seconds.
