No. 2 UC San Diego earns draw
Roundup: No. 5 GVSU defeated Saginaw Valley State
TURLOCK, Calif. -- With a strong day on both sides of the ball, Cal State Stanislaus played No. 2 UC San Diego to a scoreless draw on Sunday.
Knowing goals were going to be hard to come by against UC San Diego, the Warriors put forth a brillant effort to earn a tie. Cal State Stanislaus is now 5-3-4 overall and 4-3-3 in the Californai Collegiate Athletic Association. The Warriors remained in third place in the CCAA North.
UC San Diego entered the contest undefeated and had only allowed three goals all season after nine matches. The Tritons are now 8-0-4 overall and 7-0-3 in the CCAA.
No. 5 Grand Valley State 2, Saginaw Valley State 0
UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich.-- No. 5 Grand Valley State scored two second-half goals in a shutout against Saginaw Valley State, 2-0 on Sunday.
The Lakers improved to 11-0-2 overall and 10-0 in GLIAC play with only five more games remaining in the regular season, while the Cardinals fall to 4-6-1 overall and 3-6-1 in league play.
Despite outshooting SVSU 8-3 in the first half, GVSU failed to get on the board in the opening 45 minutes. The Lakers came out fast in the second half scoring the first goal of the game in the 51st minute from junior Kayla Addison’s unassisted goal.
