SAN ANTONIO — Heavy rains could not stop an offensive onslaught as No. 4 Trinity (Texas) defeated Millsaps 10-1 in a Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference game on Sunday afternoon.
Trinity remained undefeated at 13-0-0 and 4-0-0 SCAC. The defending conference champions also produced a season-high in goals, highlighted by a pair of hat tricks by Tiger players.
Annie Kendzior was first to chalk up the trio of goals, all within a span of less than eight minutes. She scored a solo goal in the eighth minute, and assisted goals in the 15th and 16th minutes of play. Kendzior’s final goal was assisted by Abby Loar.
Stephanie Segovia gave Trinity a 5-1 halftime lead with her first goal of the day (unassisted), in the 42nd minute. She then scored off of a Hannah Kuhl assist in the 85th minute, and finished off the scoring with a solo shot in the 89th minute. For the season, Segovia leads the Tigers with 16 goals.
Kristina Chen accounted for two scoring plays, in the 20th and 86th minutes. Mariah Risk put one past the keeper in the 49th minute, and Shelby Guenthardt scored 10 minutes later. Michelle Lanier supplied two assists, while Nicole Blavet had one.
The Tigers dominated the Majors 42-2 in total shots, and 26-2 on goal.
