Trinity (Texas) wins with shutout
Loar breaks Tiger record for points scored in a career
SAN ANTONIO -- No. 3 Trinity (Texas) senior forward Abby Loar scored two goals to break Trinity's career record for points scored, and the Tigers shut out Hendrix 3-0 in a Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference game on Sunday.
Trinity, the defending conference champion, remained undefeated at 15-0-0 and 6-0-0 SCAC. Hendrix dropped to 8-8-1 and 4-3-1 SCAC after the loss.
In addition to becoming Trinity's all-time leader in points, Loar also tied the mark for career goals scored. The All-American has chalked up 137 total points, with 52 goals and 33 assists. This season, Loar, who had three shots on goal in the game, has amassed 40 points (15 goals, six game-winners, 10 assists).
Both of Loar's goals came in the first half of play, in the 31st and 40th minutes. Kelsey Falcone assisted on Loar's first goal, and Emily Jorgens was credited with the second assist.
Kirby Peddicord added the third goal, in the 59th minute, off a corner kick.
