Selection Process
The Division I Women’s Soccer Committee will hold selections for the 2012 NCAA Division I Women’s Soccer Championship Nov. 3-5 and will announce the field of 64 teams during the selection show on Monday, Nov. 5 which will be streamed on NCAA.com at 4:30 p.m. ET.  The field of 64 teams is selected from 317 Division I sponsoring institutions across eight regions and consists of 30 automatic qualifying teams along with 34 teams receiving at-large bids.  

Preliminary Rounds (non-predetermined)

First Round
The first round of the Division I Women’s Soccer Championship will be held at 32 different sites across the country November 9-11. Each site will host two teams competing to advance to the second round.

Second/Third Rounds
The second/third rounds of the Division I Women’s Soccer Championship will be held at eight different sites across the country. Each site will host a total of four teams competing in the second round, with winners advancing to compete in the third round at the same site. Second round matches will take place on Nov. 16 with third round matches to follow on Nov. 18.

Quarterfinals
The quarterfinals of the Division I Women’s Soccer Championship will be held at four different sites across the country Nov. 23-25, depending on each site. Each site will host two teams competing to advance to the 2012 NCAA Women’s College Cup in San Diego, Calif.

Championship
The 2012 NCAA Women’s College Cup will be held in San Diego, Calif. Quarterfinal winners will compete in semifinal matches held Nov. 30 at 8:30 or 11 p.m. ET. The national championship match of the NCAA Women’s College Cup will be played 4 p.m. ET on Dec. 2.
