CATAWBA, N.C. – Lauren Harris threw a four-hit shutout to lead No. 17 Lenoir-Rhyne to a 7-0 win against East Stroudsburg as the Warriors finished their five-game appearance at the Catawba Invitational on Sunday in North Carolina.
Lenoir-Rhyne improved to 12-3 with its sixth consecutive win entering its final game of the Catawba Invitational later Sunday against Lock Haven. The Warriors had eight baserunners on four hits, two walks and two hit batters but couldn’t score against Harris, who threw the Bears’ fourth shutout of the season.
ESU went 3-2 on its season-opening trip, posting wins against Queens, N.C. (6-4), West Liberty (6-4) and Glenville State (11-10, 10 inn.) before falling to Tiffin (8-0) and Lenoir-Rhyne.
The Bears won twice Saturday at the Catawba College Invitational, defeating West Liberty (20-2) and Shippensburg (Pa.) (1-0). Lenoir-Rhyne has now won five consecutive games and improved its record on the year to 11-3.
